Anime history showed us lots of tough, uncompromising, or intimidating male characters. But within them there are few characters who are worth to be called ultimate "BADASS". These formidable characters are the best BADASS characters in our mind. It was a rough road, but here are the rankings given after much deliberation. Keep in mind we are using one character per franchise. So without further ado let the rankings begin-
10. Kamina from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann 
At first glance Kamina looks like a hothead and arrogant boy who demands recognition and seeks for greatness. He also has a tendency of calling himself as "THE MIGHTY KAMINA".
But he is a boy who is extremely determined and never lets anything keep him down. He use gurren lagan a giant robot as if its his own body. He would do anything to save his friends. He truly is a one of a kind BADASS character.
9. Nicolas Brown from Gangsta
This guy's face screams BADASS. Nic is mostly quiet even with the people he likes. Even though he seems like a bad person he shows many acts of kindness towards the tortured.
But he does not show mercy to the bad. He enjoys torturing the bad who tortures others. His weapon of choice is a katana. He is also expert in hand to hand combat. He is a pure killing machine and a BADASS.
8. Jotaro from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Even as teenager Jotaro was established as a tall, attractive and a well-built man. Jotaro is introduced as a rough person but he has a kind heart. Jotaro is both gentle and fierce.
Jotaro is an extremely cool individual, able to keep his composure in even the direst situations. With his stand Star platinum he has come victorious in many battles. If you are his enemy get ready for some Ora-Ora-Ora-Ora and his BADASS-ness
7. Roronoa Zoro from ONE PIECE
Zoro has great fame as a master swordsman and for his great strength. Zoro uses three swords at the same time making him a great fighter. He has a massive scar in his chest which looks damn good.
Zoro wants to become the greatest swordsman meaning he has high ambition. He has a strong sense of leadership and reasoning. He would also give away his life for his friends making him an absolute beast and a BADASS.
6. Kenpachi Zaraki from Bleach
Kenpachi is a tall, muscular Shinigami with an aggressive personality which feets him perfectly. Kenpachi is a Captain in Gotei 13 meaning he is really strong. He lives for battle and enjoys a good fight more than anything.
Although he is violent fighter his actions are tend to be for the best. Despite his tendency to be brutal, Kenpachi usually stops a fight if his opponent is too injured to fight back, claiming he is not interested in fighting "weaklings who can't fight anymore". He is one of the best BADASS character.
5. Levi Ackerman from Attack on Titan
Without Levi this list wouldn't be completed. Levi is a very intimidating character. With his dull gray eyes he can scare any human most possibly even titans. He is great swordsman and becomes stronger as he cuts down titans after titan.
Levi is not very approachable. He rarely shows emotion, giving a cold impression to others. His manner of speaking tends to be very blunt, even insulting, and his comments are often coarse or inappropriate. If you are a titan and you see Levi you should RUN. Because he is a BADASS
4. Madara Uchiha from Naruto
The greatest Uchiha most probably the strongest is a pure BADASS. We are talking about none other than Madara Uchiha. Madara is a master at controlling the Sharringan. He is also good at Fire style technique. His rival Hashirama Senju is called God of Shinobi, proving how much strong Madara is.
In the end the of series Madara becomes a god like entity with the power of six paths. Not even Naruto & Sasuke was strong enough to defeat him. He was so strong that only a betrayal did defeat him. Madara's name screams BADASS
3. Alucard from Hellsing: Ultimate
Alucard is no mere vampire it has been implied that he is the most powerful vampire alive. Alucard fights with ferocity, and often extreme cruelty, rarely shooting to kill until his target has been completely disabled and humiliated.
However, he does have some humanity left in him, as he is still capable of shedding tears and showing affection for those who are dear to him. Underneath his arrogance, Alucard is deeply sad and appears to be envious of humans. Alucard is a pure example of BADASS.
Kenshiro is the 64th successor of the Hokuto Shinken style and considered one of the greatest successors in its 1,800 year history.
His fist and fighting style is to be feared.
He is famous for openly lamenting, if not outright despairing over, the suffering of innocents and the deaths of his few noble enemies. He is also shown to be more openly unhinged on the rare occasions where he does get angry, and rather than deny or attempt to rationalize it, he fully accepts his rage and his wish for revenge, along with the motivation they give him, disregarding any moral ambiguity. If you hear Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru than you are already dead. If not a BADASS is coming for you.
1. Guts from Berserk 
Without any surprise our no. 1 BADASS is Guts from Berserk. Guts has endured pain from the beginning of his life. He is renowned as the "Black Swordsman". He carries a gigantic sword called Dragon Slayer with which he kills humans, beasts even gigantic monsters.
Even as his inner darkness festers deep within him and its temptation becomes increasingly harder to resist, he retains his empathy and compassion, refusing to completely discard his humanity. Guts truly is the ULTIMATE BADASS.
